Dear colleagues, members of ICOM NATHIST,
The Corona crisis is affecting us all; On a personal, family, corporate and national level. The museums, as well as the vast majority of cultural bodies around the world, had to close their doors to the general public, and most of the workers had to go on unplanned leave.
So especially at this time, despite the difficulties, we want to continue to keep in touch with you our friends around the world.
Here are some of the activities we are trying to promote despite the difficult times.
Our annual meeting, that was scheduled for early June in Edinburgh has been canceled, but we are currently working with SPNHC to hold a virtual conference on the original conference dates in Scotland. You will soon receive an email from us. Our new website, despite the limitations we continue to work on our new website and hope to launch it soon. I want to thank Christel Schollaardt, our board member for her efforts and work with the new website.
Earth Day, April 2020, Due to the pandemic we are postponing the project to the next year Earth Day (2021), but while the pandemic prevents us from conducting museum activities with an audience on site, it does not mean that we cannot reach them through the various media.
We invite you to send us ideas for Earth Day related activities that we can have online. The ideas should be emailed to: earth.day.50.icomnathist@gmail.com
And last but not least we all want to know how our colleagues around the world are getting along on these crazy days, we would love to hear from you.
On behalf of our board I wish for all of us good health, a quick and good return to routine and together we will know how to overcome the challenges ahead.
