World earth day

Due to Horizon 2020, the year 2020 became significant to many projects including those dealing with sustainability. On April 22, 2020 we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. The Board of ICOM NATHIST has decided to have a special project, getting ready towards the important day.

The goal of the project is to create a toolkit which will include information and suggested activities and ideas for encouraging positive actions for the environment. These resources will be primarily web-based and downloadable, including advice on coordinating community action; materials to assist museums making their own sustainability action plan; regular updates on issues related to Earth Day 2020 and those related to natural history museums generally.

“Sustainable New Year’s Table Project” demonstrates how the Museum promotes an innovative environmental education project under the dominating Han Chinese culture in Taiwan.
The reunion dinner during the Lunar New Years’ time would usually receive the most attention. There’s a saying or lucky slang during the Lunar New Year, “Nién Nién Yô Yú”(年年有魚).
